The City of Gainesville Parks, Recreation and Cultural Affairs will honor creative lords and ladies during the 36th Annual Hoggetowne Medieval Faire Student Art Showcase. The work of all contestants will be displayed at the Hoggetowne Medieval Faire held on January 14-15, 21-22 and 27-29, 2023.
Students can become a part of medieval history by participating in their own historic competition. All area students from kindergarten through high school are invited to participate in the Student Art Showcase.

Artwork Requirements:
Artist Recognition and Ceremony: As a reward for their artistic ability and creativity, each student participating in the showcase will receive two single-day tickets, valid for any one day of the 2023 Medieval Faire. Students will also be recognized in a special awards ceremony presided over by the King and Queen of Hoggetowne on Saturday, January 24 at 2:30 p.m., at the Royal Court inside the Faire. The King and Queen will award each student with an artist of the realm scroll recognizing their efforts in creating a kingdom known across the lands for its exquisite art. Submission: Please complete a Student Showcase Entry Form for each participant submitting their artwork. This form will automatically send a copy to your email once submitted. Print the form that was received and attach to the student's entry or include with the art submission. Please drop your students’ entries off at the Hoggetowne Medieval Faire office which is located in the Historic Thomas Center in downtown Gainesville. The street address is 302 NE 6th Avenue (building A, room 211). The Thomas Center is open Monday through Friday from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Deadline: All entries must be received by Monday, December 6. If you need an extension, you must contact the Faire Coordinator, Sunshine Andrei, for approval. Please note there is a limit of one entry per student. Each student is to receive a maximum of two tickets. Entry Pickup: Entries may be picked up from the faire site on Sunday, January 29 at 4:00 p.m. Entries may also be picked up at the Historic Thomas Center between Monday, February 13 and Wednesday, March 1 before 4:00 p.m. |
