Come experience the colorful culture of a medieval village at festival time! Students and teachers get a firsthand look at history and enjoy a field trip filled with magic, excitement and adventure.
Friday, January 26th, the Royal Gates will welcome lords and ladies, patrons and peasants from 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. for School Day at the Faire. Special ticket prices are available for educational groups that register by the deadline - January 5, 2023: $3 for students, and $6 per teacher/chaperone. Bus drivers, children four and under, and individuals with disabilities must also be registered and will receive a free guest pass. All registered groups will receive a free digital 50-page Educational Guide that can be used to assist with classroom activities before and after the Faire.
Craft Demonstrations
Watch as artisans demonstrate their skills as weavers, blacksmiths, glassblowers and more in the bustling medieval marketplace or relax with one of the Faire's fortune tellers, face painters or hair braiders. Then visit the craft village for demonstrations in medieval activities such as cooking, illumination, and basket weaving.
Performances on Nine Stages
Visit nine stages of entertainment where the forgotten skills of full flight falconry, gripping aerial acrobatics and astonishing magic acts are brought back to life. Then cheer on armored knights as they joust on the Tournament Field. Jugglers, musicians and dancers fill the streets and stages with continuous live revelry – a medley including gypsy dancing, ancient music, mystifying magic, knife throwing, fire eating and so much more!
Rides, Games and Activities
Adding to the excitement of Hoggetowne are both human-powered push rides as well as camel and warhorse rides. Play games of skill that challenge those of any age; shoot arrows, balloon fencing duel or find your way through the human maze.
Food Fit for a King
Enjoy all the delicacies of the Food Court where you will find hearty food fit for a noble of any station.

School Day at the Faire Guidelines and Information
Chaperones
We recommend at least one chaperone for every eight students. Chaperones must remain with their school group at all times and are responsible for monitoring their students' behavior. If any member of a group misbehaves, the entire group will be escorted out of the Faire.
Activities Pricing
Please encourage your students to bring enough money to enjoy the food, rides and games that the Faire offers. Meals average $8, and individual items vary from $4 to $5. Merchants will be selling a wide variety of children-friendly goods at $5 and up. The average price for games and rides varies from $3 to $6. A child could easily spend $25 during School Day.
Faire Re-entry
You may return to your bus to get your lunches and re-enter the Faire without additional charge. Please feel free to sit and eat in one of the many grassy areas inside the faire.
