What are the hours?
The hours are 10:00 a.m. — 5 p.m. on Saturdays and Sundays. The hours on Friday, January 27 are 9 a.m. — 4:00 p.m. We suggest that you arrive early to avoid parking issues, traffic delays and long lines. Tickets will go on sale 30 minutes before the gate opens. In addition, there will be a morning show at each gate that will take place 15 minutes prior to the start of the Faire. Where is the Faire located? The Hoggetowne Medieval Faire is located at 9409 SW Archer Rd, west of I-75. Can you purchase tickets at the gate? Yes, tickets can be purchased at the gate. Can tickets be purchased in advance? Yes, tickets may be purchased online for a small service fee. Tickets may also be purchased at no additional fee at Gainesville Domino’s pizza stores or at the PRCA Administrative Office, Thomas Center, Building A, 2nd Floor, Room 202, 306 NE 6th Ave., 32601, Mon.-Fri., 8:00 a.m.—5:00 p.m. in historic downtown Gainesville. General admission tickets may not be purchased in advance for Friday, January 28. Schools or home-school programs seeking a discounted group rate for "School Day at the Faire" must register online or over the phone in advance by January 10. What are the ticket prices? For the weekend days of January 15-16, 23-24, and 29-30, the ticket prices are as follows: Adults — $20 Seniors (60+) — $17 Military (one ticket per valid ID) — $17 Youth (ages 5-17) — $10 Children 4 and under — FREE January 27 is Family Friday and "School Day at the Faire," and it features reduced-price tickets for all attendees: All Adults — $10 Youth (ages 5-17) — $5 Children 4 and under — FREE Are there any special discounts? $2 off coupons are available at local Subway restaurants. Coupons may not be used on Friday. Is there a fee for parking? Parking is free. What are your Covid-19 procedures? Masking is highly recommended, but not required. The site offers ample green space and larger lanes to allow guests to social distance. Sanitizer stations have been set up throughout the site. We encourage all guests to follow CDC guidelines. Do you have a lost and found? Yes, the lost and found is located at the information booth from. If your item is not found by the time you leave the Faire, please email tzoule@cityofgainesville.org with your name, phone number, and description of your item. We will contact you if your item is found. |
Are pets permitted?
For the safety of our furred and feathered performers, pets are not permitted on the Faire site. Service animals (as defined by the ADA) are welcome. Are credit cards accepted? Credit cards (VISA, MasterCard and American Express) can be used to purchase tickets. Only some vendors accept credit cards at their booths. We suggest you bring cash for food, rides, games and vendors. How much money should I bring? Vendors will be selling meals at prices ranging from $8 to $10, and individual items such as soft drinks, ice cream, funnel cakes, hot dogs, etc., will be sold at prices from $3 to $6. Merchants will be selling goods such as waxed and metal roses, jewelry, hats, toy swords and much more. The price for rides and games rides varies from $5 to $8. Is there an ATM on site? There are several ATM's located on the site. Is the site handicap accessible? The site is handicap accessible. However, the site is located on natural terrain and it is possible to encounter some sandy areas as well as the occasional root. What is the weather policy? The Faire will take place rain or shine unless conditions become unsafe. Please follow us on Facebook for any cancellation or postponement announcements. Can you re-enter on the same day? To re-enter on the same day, you must get your hand stamped by one of the Faire volunteers before leaving the fairgrounds. On Friday, January 27 you may also re-enter on the same day with your wrist band. What is your weapons policy? Bladed weapons are permitted but must be peace-tied. Peace ties will be available at each gate and at the Information Booth, located near the eastern Alehouse. Weapons with sharpened blades must also be fully sheathed in addition to being peace-tied. Can you bring food and drinks in? Yes, you may bring in food and non-alcoholic drinks. Are there stroller or wheelchair rentals? No, there are no stroller or wheelchair rentals. Is the Faire ADA accessible? ADA parking is available near the entrance gate. The site is located on natural terrain and it is possible to encounter some sandy areas, occasional roots, and some uneven areas. Anecdotally, we found that the site was transversed fairly well by all means of mobility aids (walkers, wheel chair and electric scooters). The site is as accessible as we could accomplish with the terrain. Is there beer sold at the Faire? Yes, there are two places that sell beer: The north Alehouse is near the Information Booth, and the south Alehouse is located at the front of the food court. Only one booth will be open on Family Friday, January 27. What children activities are there? In addition to the wide variety of rides and games available, children can visit the King and Queen of Hoggetowne at the Royal Pavilion. The King and Queen are very gracious, and your young knight or princess will be officially knighted as lords and ladies, dragon slayers and damsels of the royal court. The Kids Kingdom offers free activities and a free fairy wand craft for children. Families can also enjoy the Children’s Pavilion, which offers many performances for the young and young at heart. |
