Sneak Peak Preview Day

Join us on Saturday, January 17, from 1:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. at Bo Diddley Plaza to get a preview of some of our astounding acts before the faire officially begins! Performances will feature a welcome from the King and Queen, Gypsy Guerrilla Band, and Jerry Berry & Craig Boers. Stay through to day to catch all three scenes by the Living Chessboard, where Robin Hood and King Richard will face off in an epic battle against the Sheriff of Nottingham, Sir Guy of Gisborne, and the treacherous Prince John!

Round-trip shuttles are provided by EZ Event Rides from the two downtown parking garages to Depot Park.  
Robin Hood's tram stop is located on the corner of SW 2nd Ave & SW 2nd St.
King Arthur's tram stop is located by the Downtown Parking Garage, 220 SE 2nd Ave, Gainesville, FL 32601.

Last tram leaves Depot Park at 6:20pm.

​One Weekend of
Medieval Merriment

Though we lament the inability to secure a site for the traditional three weekends of the Hoggetowne Medieval Faire, we bring thee tidings of a temporary solution that shall not leave thee bereft of merriment.

Behold, as the Hoggetowne Medieval Faire transforms Gainesville’s Depot Park into a bastion of medieval revelry on January 24-25 from 10am-6pm. 

Artisans and craftspeople shall ply their trades with skill, olde world demonstrations shall enchant, and the clash of swords in stage combat shall resonate through the air. Medieval music and dance shall lift thy spirits, and a living chessboard shall unfold its strategic dance. Witness royal knighting ceremonies with the King and Queen, indulge in food court favorites, and savor the timeless delight of turkey legs!

May the spirit of merriment and camaraderie prevail as we embark on this adventure, and may the echoes of the medieval revelry resound through Gainesville’s Depot Park in celebration of 39 years of grand tradition!
